Hunt quests use pets as an essential part of the tracking process.

Requirements for Hunt Quests

To interact with tracks during a hunt quest, you must:

  • Have a pet with you in the location.

  • Ensure that the pet is considered healthy enough.

A pet is treated as “alive” and capable of tracking if:

  • Its HP never dropped to 0 during the run, or

  • It did reach 0 HP but was healed back to at least 10% of its maximum HP.

If these conditions are not met, interactions with tracks will be blocked until the pet is healed.

Pet Tier and Quest Tier

Hunt quests have tier requirements for pets:

  • On Easy and Normal difficulty, the required pet tier is usually quest tier − 2.

  • On Hard difficulty, the required pet tier is usually quest tier − 1.

Information about the required pet tier and health is shown on the bounty board.

Early Tiers and Temporary Pet

In the first tiers (T1–T2), players typically do not have their own pets yet. To introduce the hunt system:

  • The quest asks you to meet hunter Nick on a farm location.

  • Nick provides a temporary tracking dog for the duration of the hunt:

    • The dog follows you around on the target location.

    • It neither attacks nor dies.

  • After you complete the quest, the dog leaves the location.

  • You return to town and complete the quest with Nick, who has his dog back.

This allows you to learn the hunt flow without owning a permanent pet.
