Fuel is essential on your Ranch — especially when crafting weapons, smelting metal, or powering your generator. There are different types of fuel in the game, and each one is used for specific tasks.

Coal Types

Charcoal (Tier 1)
This is the most basic type of coal. You can make it at your Ranch by burning wood in a campfire. Charcoal is used to create gunpowder and to fuel the forge when crafting melee weapons.

Brown Coal (Tier 2)
Stronger than charcoal, this coal is needed for smelting iron. You’ll mostly find brown coal in the Highlands and Iron Mine, but also in the Tin Mine and Foggy Plateau.

Coal (Tier 3)
This is top-tier fuel. It's required for smelting steel and alloyed steel. You can find coal in the Chromite Mine and Salt Mine.

Crude Oil

Crude Oil is a rare and powerful fuel — the best one for your Electricity Generator. Right now, it’s only available through the in-game shop or during special events.
